When the film In the Realm of the Senses was being planned in the mid 1970s, director Nagisa Oshima apparently sought out Abe and, after a long search, found her, her hair shorn, in a Kansai nunnery.

These award-winners are amongs the best shorts films made in Canada over the past few years.
Education, urbanism, family politics, friendship and sex are some of the themes tackled by these ambitious and compelling shorts. From the superb acting of Le Rouge au Sol to the sly post-modernist script of The School and the experimental virtuosity of Spacer, these are works whose originality and style have helped cement Canada's short film reputation around the globe.
Also included is Atomic Sake, by Louise Archambault (director of the Opening Night feature Familia): a brutally honest and gorgeously shot account of what happens when three women decide to "tell it like it is" after a few glasses of Sake.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A with director Louise Archambault.

News stands in every airport and IHop for 3000 miles sport out faces; Touching and a little sad.
I imagined my fifteen minutes of fame differently. The picture they used was the one taken after our smiles evaporated in acute cheek-fatigue. There are four closed eyes in this picture and one person's spine seems to have failed. Here's a comment, regarding our photo, that appeared on the Valleywag blog:
"Planned Parenthood called, they want to use that photo in their next safe sex campaign."
We called and had them swap-out this photo for the "good" photo, which you can see if you google USAToday and Dabble.
When Planned Parenthood calls back, I want to know if I can deduct this.
